Gail was born in London to a Traditional & modern orthodox family.
Her Ashkenazi father came from a family tracing its history going back 250 years in England. Her mother is Sephardi, born in India of whose parents came from Baghdad
Gail trained & worked for several years as Youth Worker with children & adults with Special Needs
She moved to Australia at age 21 firstly in Sydney, NSW and later on in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast in Qld where she also worked with teenagers with special needs
During her time she travelled extensively in the Hinterland and learned to surf. Leaving Maroochydore Gail spent 4 years in and around Mundubeera, fruit picking, milking cows, learning to shoot guns and was a volunteer with the ambulance service.
Finally ending up in Mount Isa working as a Jilaroo(cowgirl) she rode horses, drove 4 wheel bikes while mustering 1200 head of cattle.
On one of her frequent trips back to the city she met a Chabad Rabbi and soon after decided to stay and once again worked with teenagers at risk.
Working with the Rabbi and his wife rekindled her interest in Judaism. Together they started a cheddar for Jewish children.
After 3 and half years, Gail felt the need to further probe her Jewish identity. She moved to Melbourne, became frum and married a Charedi man. They both made aliyah.
Gail attended a seminary in Har Nof for 9 months, during which time the couple divorced. She went on to complete a 5 month Ulpan during which time she met and married a Sephardi man.
Gail is currently living in Israel and works with people who have mental health problems.
